An autonomous robot will soon take over all logistics between two locations of the electric heating manufacturer Lucht LHZ in Burgst\u00e4dt. The robot moves efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner on the sidewalks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science meets business<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This project showcases how new technologies can be developed through close collaboration between companies and research institutions. TU Bergakademie Freiberg is working on the further development of the robot under the methodological leadership of the 4transfer innovation network. A real-world laboratory is being created step by step that will enable research and create concrete application scenarios for logistics solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robots in the starting blocks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before the robot can embark on its inaugural journey between the two locations, the legal, organizational, and infrastructural conditions must be finalized. To this end, a large on-site inspection was conducted in Burgst\u00e4dt on November 13. This allowed guests from politics, science, and business to see the local conditions firsthand. Burgst\u00e4dt’s mayor, Lars Naumann, was also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central Saxony as a model region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This project has the potential to establish Central Saxony as a pioneer in future technologies. “This project offers the opportunity to establish Central Saxony as a model region for autonomous driving in Germany and Europe. We are proud to be part of such a forward-looking project,” said Uwe Lucht, managing director of Lucht LHZ.
