In the third quarter of the current financial year, Saxony-based heating company LUCHT LHZ increased its revenue by more than 15 per cent year on year. Total revenue for 2026 to date therefore stands in the high single-digit millions. “The summer months are usually weaker in terms of revenue. The fact that we were able to grow significantly during this period as well this year confirms the strategic direction we have taken in recent years,” says Uwe Lucht, Managing Director of the LUCHT LHZ Group, which also includes the specialist trade brand TECHNOTHERM. The company, based in Burgst\u00e4dt, currently employs 81 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New heating law improves the regulatory framework for electric heating<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Uwe Lucht’s assessment, the Building Modernisation Act (Geb\u00e4udemodernisierungsgesetz, GModG), passed in July, has also contributed to this positive business performance. It clarifies the conditions under which direct electric heating may be used in future: “A reliable legal framework matters to everyone in the market, and of course that includes us. After lengthy debate, the new heating law now provides the guidance the industry needed, and at the same time it considerably improves the conditions for electric heating systems. Both the market and our company stand to benefit.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rising gas and heating oil costs: electric heating becomes an alternative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gas and heating oil prices are currently rising in Germany, a direct consequence of the war in the Middle East. “This shows once again that heating in German homes needs to move to renewable systems as quickly as possible. A heat pump, however, is not a realistic option for everyone, because installing one involves high upfront costs,” stresses Uwe Lucht. A recent study<\/a> by TU Dresden shows that electric heating systems are an economically viable alternative for existing buildings and new builds alike, particularly in combination with a photovoltaic system and dynamic electricity tariffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
