Electric storage heaters convert electricity into heat with a time delay, using a heat storage core. At LUCHT LHZ, this product is called the Duo Smart Heater. It uses a heat store made from Ferolit storage bricks, taking on energy during defined charging windows and releasing the stored heat to the room in a delayed and controlled manner afterwards. Compared with traditional storage heaters, it has a considerably larger storage capacity and longer bridging times. This makes the Duo Smart Heater particularly suitable for applications where electricity is charged at favourable times and used to provide heat at a later time.

It has a high storage capacity and intelligent charge control, as well as programmable charging windows for operation with low-rate electricity tariffs, dynamic electricity prices or photovoltaic self-consumption. The solid Ferolit storage core can absorb large amounts of heat and release them in a controlled manner over a period of up to eight hours. This allows electricity consumption to be decoupled from heat output.
This type of heating system is used when it is necessary to charge electricity specifically during off-peak periods. With charging times of 7 to 8 hours or 14 to 16 hours, the two model ranges allow the system to be adapted to different tariff structures and usage scenarios.
